WALNUT ARCHTOP
My first attempt at archtop, helped hugely by Tom Ribbecke's luthier's workshop in the fall of 2004, has some fun oddities (not Tom's fault!). I inserted a Black Locust backbone with a platform for a TV Jones humbucker, which provides great sustain as an electric guitar. The Claro Walnut back and neck add to that hefty loudness and the redwood top inserts a heavenly rasp to the acoustic tone. The various shades of Mountain Mahogany in the head veneer. bridge, tailpiece and pickguard are totally artsy.
